And We're Off!
"The true adventure of cross cultural ministry is finding Christ in the new situation and participating with him in his ministry there. Our fruitfulness in ministry and the fruit of the experience in our own lives partially depends on how we answer the question: Do we live in our circumstances, or do we live in Christ?" - Tim Dearborn
Today is the day! Happy Uganda day, as some people are telling us here, hahaha. Our Smile team leaves for Africa today and it's already been a busy morning. We were able to have some time in personal prayer, so that definitely helps calm all of us down and prepare for the journey ahead. Despite our busy schedules and lack of sleep, these past few days have been so amazing and all of us are excited for this upcoming month :]
We found out yesterday that our stay in Kampala was longer than we expected. As some of you may already know, there was a recent bombing accident in Kampala. But have no fear! AIM has been in contact with their office in Kampala and have reassured us that we will be safe during our travels there. Our flight leaves Newark tonight at 8:50pm and we land in London in the morning. Since we have a layover for about 12 hours, our team gets a chance to see the city a little bit (WOO HOO!). Our next flight leaves London around 9pm to Entebbe, Uganda. We land in Uganda on Friday morning and will be staying in Kampala until Monday for another orientation/training session. Finally on Monday, we will be traveling to the compound in Tororo! :D
Prayer Requests:
-For the people who have been impacted by the tragedy in Kampala
-For safety and timeliness in our travels to London, Entebbe, Kampala and Tororo
-For physical health while traveling and in Uganda
For His Kingdom,
Hanna
